Anyone out there in Bloglandia have any recommendations for a good RPG database program? By "good" I mean basically a virtual notebook that allows me to track PCs and NPCs, collate monster stats, track calendar time, and so forth.
Platform neutral or Mac friendly would be preferred, since my PC laptop is woefully clunky.

tiddly wiki works really well.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I also use a wiki. I don't use Tiddly Wiki because some of my players also keep their character sheets online. I use campaignwiki.org but if you wanted fancier you could use Obsidian Portal instead.
ReplyDeleteI really like EpicWords.com and it seems to have what you're looking for.
ReplyDeleteI use OneNote for this sort of thing myself.
ReplyDeleteOne Note is rather good. Tidy Wiki needs more work, but is free.
ReplyDeleteFor standalone programs I like DDI (for 4e) and Hero Builder (for others).
I use TreePad, because I like tree structures AND wiki-like links.
ReplyDeleteBut typically every time I start a new campaign, I try a new set of DM tools.
I haven’t found anything that I’m really happy with yet. I’m currently using Evernote.

ReplyDeleteThat seems to be a running theme for a lot of folks. I'm surprised there aren't more programs out there. I guess it's because of the advent of wikis and all. Call me old fashioned, but I do prefer a GUI to a Wiki.
Thanks for all the awesome suggestions everyone!
sirlarkins, not to beat a dead horse, but that is why I like EpicWords.com. It already has a page for XP, a page for loot tracking, a page for characters, etc. It does have some Wiki features, but by and large you just enter in your info.
