After Sir Herringdale's contemplative communion with the Yale that he killed in this past year's hunt, Des and I got to talking about updating his coat of arms. The golden hand on field of black was the symbol of Sir Hervis, Herringdale's father, and Des wanted to retain that but also incorporate something personally meaningful. After fooling about with my
heraldry software, here's what she came up with:

What kind of creature is that? I don't recognize it.
ReplyDeleteThat's actually the heraldic rendition of a yale, and it's definitely one of the rarer heraldic beasts.
ReplyDeleteDes wanted a yale on a field of green (to represent the forest) as Herringdale's personal symbol.
